Mistakes are, after all the foundations of truth, a lot of people deserve that right now.
Quarries provide the foundations for our roads and cities, so one bit of land gets blighted to
blight another?
Being a Farm Yardie with Pirate tendencies it was time to look at the Island as
a whole coming to take what’s rightfully or wrongfully his or hers? Challenging property value
and Land ownership as Graffiti does is often seen as an act of vandalism, I find house prices
particularly offensive, after all it’s a basic necessity like water (which should be free),
I’m concerned by the lack of Public space in which we can express ourselves ‘freely’ I’m intrigued
by abandoned buildings, Quarries like Holcombe, traveller sites and old Glastonbury festival,
how at home do you feel in Broardmead? (Bristol's City Centre shopping precinct)
My work is mainly narrative very much site specific often set in the near future, though if you check
‘Looking 4 Witches’ on Zetland Road that was set in 1482, this statement also appeared at a Wrong island
Construction in town and is very much of the now. Dwelling literally in the underground, questioning if
quarrying is an act of vandalism on the countryside, is what I’m doing an act of vandalism within that context?
This is a place that’s been blown to smithereens so it seemed appropriate to drop some of my war related work
there, when you hear the air raid sirens go off from neighbouring quarries it makes you think.
I’ve had plenty of fun in these places too and I’ve also nearly died!
